Building Family Strengths by Supporting Family Engagement in Today’s World
Course 3: Creating the Environment
Course 3 examines the importance of the home to school connection citing the research that supports its implementation into every program. In this course we will discuss how curriculum, the physical environment and staff culture all play a part in the home to school connection. We will review examples of materials and brainstorm inventive ways to co-construct learning opportunities with families and examine the parent’s role in learning and engagement.
This self-paced course includes the following 3 modules:
- Module 1 - Home to School
- Module 2 - The Learning Environment
- Module 3 - Learning at Home
Modules include text, image, and video content, knowledge checks, practice activities, discussions, and a quiz. You will recieve a certificate unpon successful completion of the course.
