Full course description
OSU Greenhouse Tomato Academy is a 4.5-day comprehensive hands-on training program (June 23-27) to learn everything about Dutch-style high-wire tomato production and climate/crop management in greenhouse. All topics are covered in lectures and hands-on greenhouse labs, including:
- Tomato crop physiology
- Grafting propagation
- Crop management
- Integrated pest/disease management
- Fruit harvest/quality analysis
- Balancing vegetative vs. generative crop status
- Sensor & climate control with PRIVA
- Irrigation management
- Nutrient solution design
- Recirculation
Format
This training program will take place in person from June 23rd - June 27th, 2025 at the OSU CEA Research Complex (CEARC) in Columbus, Ohio. Course materials will be available online via ScarletCanvas through July 31st, 2025.
You can enroll in this training until June 16th, 2025, or until we reach a maximum of 25 participants.
Technology Requirements
- For best performance, a computer or tablet that supports the most recent web browser versions can play mp4 files. It is recommended to use a computer five years old or newer with at least 1GB of RAM and high-speed internet connection. Some features may not be compatible with mobile devices.
- Adobe Acrobat Reader. Can be downloaded here for free.
- The recommended web browsers are Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Microsoft Edge.

Refunds
You may request a refund for Greenhouse Tomato Academy (less a $45 processing fee) on or before June 9. Please send requests to Dr. Jason Hollick (Hollick.4@osu.edu). No refunds will be issued on or after after June 10.
